Black Racer belongs to the Coluber

Southern Black Racer
The southern black racer is one of the most
familiar subspecies of non lethal snakes in the southeastern US. The activity of
the snakes increases during day time and frogs, toads and lizards constitute
their diet. The Southern Black racer can swim and climb pretty fast because of
which it is very difficult to catch. Black racer bite is extremely painful but
it is not fatal as it is non venomous. The snake is found mostly in wooded
areas, thickets etc. The black racer is color blind. While the adult racers are
about 24 to 55 inches long, baby black racers are about 6 inches long.
Northern Black Racer
The northern black racer is shiny and black
in nature. The adult northern black racer is rounded in shape and eats frogs,
skinks, small birds, mice etc. The northern black racer is the state reptile of
the US state of Ohio.
